What is the Russell Group?
The Russell Group comprises 24 universities that dominate UK research funding, doctoral training and graduate employability. Members include all universities listed above plus Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham, Sheffield, Southampton, Glasgow, Cardiff, Queen’s Belfast and others.
Russell Group universities collectively produce 65%+ of UK university research income and supply a disproportionate share of senior public figures, scientists and professionals.
Oxford vs Cambridge
Both institutions share a unique collegiate tutorial/supervision system. Key differences:

- Oxford: Strongest in PPE (politics, philosophy, economics), law, humanities; tutorial system
For international applicants, the admissions process is almost identical: personal statement, academic record, interview (in-person or online), and typically A-Level equivalent offers of A*AA–AAA.
